Re-connecting with my home church and friends in Vero Beach has been a fun and heart warming experience. Living in San Diego, I really missed being a part of the daily lives of my friends here. Now that I've been back long enough to have dinner with friends, chat with acquaintances over donuts after church, and help out with some chores, I can say that there is NO PLACE like home.
It's great to call Vero home. I'll take the biting no-see-ums and sticky weather any day. The upside of Florida in the summer is uncrowded beaches, roads, and stores, warm ocean water, and my favorite: plants that practically grow before your eyes.
During the week, I've been renovating the future church buildings. Things have been coming along nicely and the church offices are already moved into the new location. Some days I come home with clumps of paint in my hair, but it's nothing permanent, haha. I really like painting because the results are so immediate and visible. I guess painting is the instant gratification of renovation work...
